Hey Guys,
So I only have designs from one of you and I really need them A.S.A.P. When Ximena, Rachel and I met with the Habitat group we told them we would send the design in a week. That was now almost two weeks ago! We sent them a copy of Ximena's characters, but we need to send them a complete design. We discussed at our glass meeting on Tuesday that we would finish the designs for Friday, but I am still missing half the designs. I need the rest of the designs by 2 pm at the latest tomorrow, so I can piece them together and send them out for critique. I cannot extend this anymore due to time constraints, and the fact that the client has been waiting for them now. There is only a week left before Orientation Training starts, so that means we have a week left to get feedback, fix anything and get the final one approved.
Please understand the need to get these to me by 2PM tomorrow (Sunday August 1) at the latest!
If you need help feel free to text me or email, but it needs to get done!
Thanks!

ZimKids Update
Hey guys,
Just wanted to update you on how the ZimKids project is going. We had a total of about 50 dolls created by the precollege students. They really enjoyed working on the project and were very passionate about the cause that it was supporting. On Saturday we had sold quite a few of those dolls to the precollege students and parents to raise money for ZimKids.
Great Job Everyone!
Below are a few pictures of some of the kids and their dolls.

a "THANK YOU" from Save Our Seabirds!

"everyone did such a great job today and during the weeks preceding our event. We had such a super crowd and everyone seemed very happy with the food, entertainment, and just being there and touring SOS. We had lots of new people who had not visited before which is wonderful! Can't wait to hear the final counts.
Thanks again for all each of you are doing!
Rachel, please thank our Ringling face painters! They did a super job!
Mary Lou"

Final Color scheme for UCP

These are the two colors Vin and Aden worked on for the UCP therapy room. After speaking to Milena yesterday she came at the decision to use Vin's brighter design with the red-orange sunset. As of now the computer room has been painted and all that remains is a bit of white touch ups around the edges once remove the tape. The line work for the therapy room is all up we jsut need to connect the edges and need to be prep for painting.

Habitat Mural- PSD with proper dimensions
Hey Guys!
So Ximena, Rachel and I went over to the Habitat Restore Center and got the correct measurements for the wall that will be painted as well as spoke with a few people including Renee and Janet about the design for the wall.
Some things that they mentioned:
-liked the idea of the cycle being depicted through multiple scenes or images.
-a lot of them like the image of having the toy plane resurface at the end of the image to bring the piece full circle
-we asked them what to do as far as the color of the figures in the piece to avoid conflict. that sparked another conversation about leaving it up to the viewer's imagination to come up with what color skin the characters have. they would like us to stick to more cartoon like characters to avoid getting heavy with the features of one specific group. So in the midst of this conversation it was brought up that we could design it like a blue print.
- we could have a flat color of blue for the background and then with white outlines drawing all of the scenes. the only objects in the piece that would have a filled color would be some of the objects being donated and those that are interact with the characters.
Below are two links to files for this project. The first link is one for the layout of the location with the proper dimensions on it. The second is the quick sketch that I showed today at the meeting as well as to Janet and Renee today- but fitted roughly to the new dimensions.
Reminder- for those that are helping with the design for this mural please have preliminary sketches ready for the meeting on Friday at 4:30 in Keating 2. We will discuss the designs, and divide what needs to be designed for that following Tuesday. Final design will be presented next Tuesday to the Glassfellows at the usual Tuesday meeting. Then we will go back through and fix any minor things and send it out to Janet and the crew at Habitat.
Questions feel free to email Ximena or I, or post here!

JFG line drawing
We finished the line drawing for JFG yesterday. Now we're going on to color!
The mural still does not have a colored version, so we may be working on that Wednesday in a lab rather than going to JFG.
update: we will be meeting in Keating 2 at 12:00 pm sharp to work on colors.

- 10:30am-3pm
5pm and 10:30am are the times we will be leaving campus.

Please email, text, or call us if anything comes up that you can't make it at any point.

notifications
Hi everyone,
I tried to put everyones email so that we could all get notifications when something new is posted on the blog but it would only allow me to select 10 email addresses.
I just copied the email addresses from the last group email that was sent.
Those people will receive notifications and the rest of just should just check the blog as much as we can.
Maybe we can send a short email every time we put something new up.
If you are having troubles creating your account and or posting things let me know and ill try to help you.
Thank you for those of you who have already posted somethings!
See you tonight.
JFG Update
Ello,
Today the JFG group went to the facility and began putting lines on the walls.
The projector was a little funky to work with and we're hoping to use the other projector next time, assuming it has all the pegs on the bottom - we had issues with leveling it today.
We got about 3/4 of the jungle scene on the wall and about 1/2 of the space scene.
We were there from 11am-3:30pm. So...we've got quite a bit more time to put into that before the whole mural is drawn on there.
GBM Events Updates
Melanie has asked for 2 photographers during the GBM summit.
And she has asked for them to come to the next council meeting.
As a gift to the council members she would like portrait sketches of them done by us, or one of us. We need volunteers for that. There's a lot of council members.
"Praise at the Park" is on August 1 from 6-8pm and she'd like someone out there doing sketches at well. (I'm assuming caricature sketching) And she says that whoever does that can charge a minimal cost.
She would like face painters for the same event.
We also have an open invitation for showing any of our artwork in the exhibition hall during the summit. Anyone interested in hanging their work needs to contact Ohenewa or I and let us know how many pieces you'd like to display.
I'll post any new information from tonight's council meeting.

Just another way to communicate
Hello everyone...
This is just an idea for another way to communicate, share ideas, sketches and more.
We can all be on the same page, and be a part of the creative process.
we'll need everyone's input and updates to keep us all in the loop, and we can use this as a central place for information
I hope it works!
